Shoe Drive fundraiser on now ! ! !

Project: LEARN of Medina County is conducting a shoe drive fundraiser through April 30!

Here's how it works:

During the months of March and April, we are asking you to kindly donate gently worn, used and new shoes to one of five drop-off locations (listed below). Project: LEARN will earn funds based on the total weight of the pairs of shoes collected, as Funds2Orgs will issue a check for the collected shoes. Those dollars will support Project: LEARN's one-on-one tutoring programs for adults in need of educational assistance in Medina County!

The drop-off locations are:

• The BookShelf in Brunswick (831 Pearl Road)

• The BookShelf in Medina (105 W. Liberty Street)

• The BookShelf in Wadsworth (130 Main Street)

• National Design Mart (2255 Medina Road)

All donated shoes will be redistributed throughout the Funds2Orgs network of small business partners. Funds2Orgs works with micro-entrepreneurs in helping them create, maintain, and grow small businesses in developing countries where economic opportunity and jobs are limited. Proceeds from the sales of the shoes collected in shoe drive fundraisers are used to feed, clothe, and house their families. One budding entrepreneur in Haiti even earned enough to send her son to law school!

So if you have extra shoes in your closets you would like to donate, you have the opportunity to help an adult student in need right here in Medina County, as well as families in developing nations who need economic opportunities. The shoes you donate will be given a second chance and will make a difference in people's lives around the world. It's a win-win for everyone!
